Tesla Powerwall introduced a one-stop, modular product incorporating hybrid inverter, battery management system, and battery storage unit in a handsome case. With easy installation and a minimalist design, Powerwall complements a variety of home styles and solar systems. The compact, all-in-one construction features versatile mounting options for indoor or outdoor spaces. The Tesla Powerwall is a rechargeable lithium-ion battery stationary home energy storage product manufactured by Tesla Energy. The Powerwall stores electricity for solar self-consumption, time of use load shifting, and backup power. The Powerwall was introduced in 2015. Mass production started in early 2017 at Tesla’s Giga Nevada factory. As of May 2021, Tesla has installed 200,000 Powerwalls.

    Powerwall is a battery that stores energy, detects outages and automatically becomes your home's energy source when the grid goes down. Unlike generators, Powerwall keeps your lights on and phones charged without upkeep, fuel or noise.

  • Monitor & Optimise

    With the Tesla app, you can monitor your home’s energy production and consumption in real time. Set your preferences to optimise for energy independence, outage protection or savings. With instant alerts and remote access, you can control your system from anywhere.

The number of eligible certificates may differ based on when the system is installed, so all figures should be treated as estimates. While batteries can be physically installed before July 1st, 2025, they will only qualify once they are activated on or after that date, as confirmed by the CCEW.

  • Battery Installation: Allowed before July 1st, 2025.
  • Eligibility Start: Begins only when batteries are activated on or after July 1st, 2025.
  • Proof of Activation: The CCEW must show a switch-on date of July 1st, 2025 or later.
  • Further Requirements: A checklist outlining additional required documentation for claims will be provided soon.
